Paul Morelli grew up in a creative family "with a pencil in his hand." At a young age, he began working with his father, a theater costume designer, enjoying Sundays with his fashionable grandparents, everyone "dressed to the nines." After studying journalism, he found himself working in the fashion world in the late '60's and early '70's. A friend asked him to help with a jewelry commission and soon he was designing his own pieces in his basement, selling them to galleries and at arts and crafts fairs. He was "discovered" and asked to design a line for Bergdorf Goodman. In the early 1980's, he opened his studio in Philadelphia, where all of his exquisite creations are designed and manufactured today.
