The Marios Team Goes to Solomeo

Last month our team at Marios was invited to Solomeo by Brunello Cucinelli. Check out their Italian adventure.

On the first day our group was treated to a tour of the Solomeo village and School of Arts. Solomeo itself is a small village centered mainly on a hilltop in the province of Perugia, Umbria in the center of Italy. This medieval hamlet, whose foundation probably dates back to the 12th-century, is the heart of the company. The company business, which was established at the castle, was relocated to the valley below and the School of Arts and crafts was set up in 2013.
That evening, just outside of Perugia, in the little town of San Martino in Campo, we were treated to an amazing dinner at Alla Posta dei Donini. This beautiful setting was a perfect backdrop for the 100 North American specialists to unwind and share stories about their experiences with the brand.

The next day over 500 people from all over the world met at the company’s beautiful factory to spend the day hearing from many of the top people in marketing, finance, and design speak about what Brunello Cucinelli has brought to their lives and the future of the company. We heard Brunello and his daughter speak about respect and preservation for both the people and the quality of the products at every level. Brunello spoke several times and we heard many interesting stories that helped shape the company.
We really saw the breadth of the Cucinelli products and how well they hold up over time, both in quality and style. - Lynwood Holmberg, Women’s Fashion Director for Marios

On our final day together we toured the city of Norcia that was devastated during a 2016 earthquake. We saw firsthand Brunello Cucinelli’s commitment to preservation and respect by touring the restoration of this beloved city. In the city center under a statue of Saint Benedict we heard the town’s mayor recount Cucinelli’s immediate and continued response to this tragedy. That afternoon we enjoyed the scenic views and local cuisine in the piazza of Palazzo Seneca.

That evening we all enjoyed the sunset at Borgo Colognola that turned into a night of dinner and dancing. This night was a perfect culmination of the message of the entire trip, look up at the stars as the world will seem that much better.
