This concept began in 1958 when Ed and Norma Mitchell founded Mitchells. Their vision was to "hug" each customer, which meant more than just selling clothes. It was important to them to have a warm environment in their store so that when customers walked in, it felt like home. In fact, having coffee, snacks, and a few drinks at each Mitchells store is just one small way they’ve made the customer experience more relaxing. The trend was started by Norma Mitchell in 1958 when she started bringing a pot of coffee to the store every morning.
Every time we step into a store, we want an amazing customer service experience. We've probably all experienced a store worker who was rude, un-engaging, or unhelpful. Have you ever walked into a store and felt like you were stuck? You didn’t know where to start and felt overwhelmed by all the options that were in front of you? We have a wide range of Style Advisers for you to choose from. Each brings a unique style to the table, but what they all have in common is that they will give your wardrobe that finishing touch it’s missing. The majority of our Style Advisors have been a part of the Mitchells family for an average of 16 years. They are passionate about what they do and build relationships with their customers while advising them on clothing, jewelry, and accessories that matter to them – leaving them satisfied with all the fashion tips they have to offer. This is where your personal stylist will be your best friend. They will always go the extra mile to ensure that your shopping experience is an unforgettable one, and your goal of looking stylish and feeling confident is achieved.
Being a family business, we believe it's important that our customers feel at home and like they're surrounded by family and friends. Our goal has always been to create a shopping experience that can be enjoyed by everyone. For moms and dads, we even have interactive play areas, so while your children are playing, you can be relaxed and focused and get pampered the way you deserve. There’s always time for a Closet Cleaning
You may have a hard time deciding what's old, what's new, what's in style, and which pieces go with what. That is why we offer a complimentary consultation for a closet cleaning. We will send one of our professional Style Advisors to visit your home and inventory your closet. During this time your Style Advisor will be available to answer any questions you may have, such as how to creatively piece certain pieces together or how to enhance your wardrobe. Additionally, one of our expert tailors is available to provide any fitting adjustments you may need on your garments. And finally, we create a photographic catalog of your wardrobe for future reference.

It’s impossible to predict when a fashion emergency will occur, but we’ve all been there. But no need to worry. Here at Mitchells, we are always prepared. Our Style Advisers at Mitchells want to make it easier on you. If you have a fashion emergency at any time of day, we have your back; even after hours. By dialing our main store number and following the prompts, you can get connected directly to a member of our family’s home numbers. You can always rely on us to come to your fashion rescue!
The World of Mitchells
On our Mitchells website, we offer exclusive perks to our members when you create an M World account. One being, your own virtual closet. With your M World account, you are automatically given a virtual closet that shows you all the products you have bought online and in-store. Once you’ve met and created a relationship with your Style Advisor, they are able to select items you will love and that will fit your style. This is an easy way for you and your Style Advisor to keep track of what you currently have.

At Mitchells, we strive to meet all of your clothing needs in every way – from the shopping to the actual fit of the clothes and more. We want to make sure the clothes you buy are worth the investment and make you feel good. This is why we offer a variety of other services along with our Style Advisors. For instance, we offer complimentary alterations on all regularly priced merchandise – whether purchased in-store or online.
In each of our eight locations, our Made-to-Measure Advisors are known for helping you create your own bespoke suits, shirts, sport coats, and more. Choose from the world's top fashion houses' finest fabrics, buttons, linings, and details. Third, we can make your old favorite pair of shoes or handbag (almost) new again. The relationships we have developed with designers and leather craftsmen allow us to give an old treasure a fresh lease on life. Lastly, regardless of whether your suit or outerwear has a button that needs to be repaired, bring it to us and we’ll reattach or tighten it for you, right on site.
